Slovenská Route 66

  Slovenská Ľupča sa ako prvá obec na Slovensku, postavením informačno-bezpečnostnej tabule počas nášho prvého zrazu stala v jeseni roku 2012 aktívnou súčasťou Slovenskej Route 66. Práve územím obce totiž prechádza cesta s označením I/66. Na svete sú vraj iba tri cesty, ktoré majú označenie 66 a navyše spĺňajú parametre tej americkej, ktorá prechádza naprieč celým kontinentom. Okrem USA  je to Juhoafrická republika a Slovensko s cestou I/66. Starobylá US Route 66, alebo Matka ciest, ako ju familiárne nazývajú motoristi na celom svete, za oceánom prispela k rozmachu ale aj bezpečnosti cestnej premávky v regiónoch, ktorými viedla. A rovnako aj projekt jej slovenskej verzie chce prispieť k zvýšeniu dopravnej bezpečnosti a zároveň k rozvoju cestovného ruchu pozdĺž cesty I/66. Slovenská Route 66 má vyše 170 kilometrov a vedie od štátnej hranice s Maďarskom v Šahách cez Krupinu, Zvolen, Banskú Bystricu, Brezno až po sedlo Pusté pole pri Vernári na hranici Banskobystrického a Prešovského kraja. A tak ako milovníci motorizmu chodia jazdiť na americkú Route 66, má aj slovenská Route 66 lákať turistov do kúpeľov, lyžiarskych stredísk, k prírodným a kultúrnym zaujímavostiam či hradom vo svojom okolí. Projekt je realizovaný za podpory ministerstva dopravy aj jednotlivých samospráv.

Slovak Route 66

  After the information-safety board was built in the fall of 2012, Slovak Ľupča became the first village in Slovakia that took an active part in the Route 66. It passes directly through the village and is marked I/66. It is rumored that there are only three routes in the world marked as Route 66 that meet the parameters of the Route in United States, which passes across the continent. In addition to the United States, also South Africa and Slovakia have the Route I/66. The old U.S. Route 66, or the Mother Road, as it is familiarly known by motorists from around the world, contributed to the safety in the regions and this made it popular overseas. Due to its popularity, the Slovaks developed their own version of the Route I/66, which should increase traffic safety and tourism as well. The Slovak Route 66 is more than 170 km in length and runs from the Hungary border in Šahy through Krupina, Zvolen, Banska Bystrica, Brezno to Pusté pole by Vernári at the boundary of Banska Bystrica and Prešov terrorities. And as motoring enthusiasts go ride on the U.S. Route 66, the Slovak Route 66 should also lure tourists to the spas, ski resorts, natural and cultural attractions, and castles in the area. The project is implemented with the support of the Ministry of Transport and local administrations.
